Orry Elor is a UCSF PhD candidate in the Nadav Ahituv Lab, a cofounder of The Mat Association, an athlete, and a coach. His work connects functional genomics, combat-sports communities, coaching, and public service.

Longer bio

Orry Elor is a PhD candidate at UCSF in the Nadav Ahituv Lab, where his research focuses on functional genomics, hidden genomic features, gene regulation, and tools that can improve the way gene-editing technologies are evaluated.

Outside the lab, Orry helps lead The Mat Association, coaches, trains as an athlete, and remains connected to wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, strength training, and community work. His public story includes university training environments, Greco-Roman competition, graduate school, coaching, and nonprofit work in the Bay Area.
